梦想过劳死？

        今天接受了《新东亚》很长时间的采访。记者向我提出了一系列尖刻的问题。其中有一个问题就是把我当作“工作狂”，问我是不是说过“梦想过劳死”。

        没错。我在担任美丽商店常务董事的2003年，于新年开工仪式上这么说过。但不要因此产生误解，因为我的意思不是想只顾工作，早早死去。正常人不会那么说的。

        最近有所谓“9988234”的说法。意思就是生龙活虎地活到99岁，在两三天内死去。其实周围有很多人到了老年长期卧病在床，让自己和周围人受苦后离开人世。我想表达的意思是与那种悲惨结局相比，我宁愿在现场工作，不经受那种漫长的痛苦就死去。听了我的解释，那个记者好像也松了口气。

        几天前，我偶然在一份报纸介绍新书的栏目中看到了有关朝鲜时代国王生活的报道，留下了深刻的印象。朝鲜时代国王的生活简直就是3D（危险、艰苦、困难）工种。从清晨起来给长辈请安，到经筵、会议、批奏折、处理民怨和学习等，日程排得满满的。世宗甚至在凌晨两三点起床处理积压的事务。我看了这篇报道很高兴，得到了莫大的安慰。因为这是证明负责千万市民生活的首尔市长当然要少睡觉，埋头工作的证据。

        但我很清楚到处宣扬自己是工作狂非常危险。因为首尔市的公务员在听到后会感到非常恐怖并产生危机感。他们会对市长的一举一动都反应敏感。

        我在从事市民运动时毫无顾虑地专心工作。但在担任首尔市长的如今，怎能那么露骨地工作？我变得非常小心谨慎。我的目标是尽量早离开办公室，在家收看9点新闻。我还总让公务员一定要度假，在夹心周一定要休息，要有自己的学习时间。要想让这些话有说服力，我就要偶尔休息和度假。哪怕勉为其难也要这么做。当首尔市长真难。
